Wednesday, July 2nd, 2008… just recently I received the following email, proving once more that germany is NOT the worst country in setting up silly rules and having even more silly people supporting those:
Illegal Bicycle Parking
(FMO/EBS/008/027/LT)
We have recently been informed by Sham Shui Po District Office that bicycles were found parking on the pedestrian pavement at the vicinity of the University next to the Festival Walk. There were complaints that these bicycles had blocked the drivers’ views on the pedestrian crossing which might lead to hazardous situations.
Please be reminded that storage of private belongings on Government land, including parking of bicycle on pedestrian pavement, without prior approval from the Government is an illegal act. We understand that the responsible Government Department will take enforcement action shortly to remove and dispose of all these bicycles parked in the pavement at the vicinity of the University without further notice.
We would like to seek your co-operation to park your bicycle in the bicycle rack next to lift no. 1 on Ground Level of the Campus and do not park your bicycle illegally.
